4th of July Fun

We are so blessed to have such good neighbors and friends to spend the 4th of July with. This year we, again, had a neighborhood party in our front yards.

Here's the roll call of all the people who attended:

My wonderful husband Zac and myself

Our next door neighbors, Shaun and Jen

Our old neighbors from across the street, Jennifer and James

My sister and future brother-in-law, Suzi and Austin

Our newest neighbors, Cassie and Garrett

Then there are all the kids:

Bryant and his best friend, Cooper

Karsyn and Autum

Cheyenne and Krystal

It was blistering hot. I think the high was 102 degrees. We all needed to keep cool so we drug all the pools, etc. around to our front yards. We had lots of fun activities for the kids...

The pool which the kids enjoyed up until 11:00 p.m.!

When they got bored of the pool, they started playing in the water coming down the street in the ditch

They drew with chalk. Half the the driveway was an American Flag. It was a real work of art. I wish I would have gotten a picture of it before it got wet and disappeared.

They slip and slided for hours!

While the kids kept themselves occupied, the adults played Mexican Train Domino's. It's a super cool game. We had a great time... even though I didn't do so well :(

As usual we had way too much yummy food to enjoy... I probably gained back 5 of the 35 pounds I've lost!

Although the kids were bugging us all afternoon to do fireworks, as soon as they started, several of the kids got scared. Bryant actually spent half his time running into the house to hide. He doesn't mind the fire but he HATES the loud boom as the fireworks go off.

All the kids liked the "Snake" fireworks

Our celebration ended about midnight. What a wonderful wonderful way to spend the day. Thanks again to these special neighbors and friends for making the holiday super fun!

The group shot taken with my camera, the timer and a tripod (you don't even want to know how many times we had to re-take this photo!)
