Toxic Y'all

I want to go in a totally different direction today. I want to talk Britney. I admit that I know the words to more than one Britney Spears song… but I honestly only started paying true attention to her when she started screwing up her life.

I confess that I read the gossip columns EVERY morning to see what crazy thing she’s done the night before. Without fail there is always something about Britney. The woman isn’t terribly smart, and no, in spite of millions of dollars and all her fame, she isn’t at all sophisticated. I’d say Britney landed permanently on the crazy-train years ago! Not one bad outfit, but hundreds. Not one crazy interview, but countless. Not one divorce, but two before 25! Not one drunken night out, but thousands! She’s a white-trash poster girl for failure.

It’s like her fan base grew up, but she didn’t. Why does she have to keep showing her crotch to the paparazzi? She hasn’t put anything out the past few years to be a fan of (besides her crotch). No DVD’s, no remix albums, no greatest hits album, nothing. It’s kind of sad, really.

But what really makes me sad is to think of her babies. Who rocks her children to sleep each night? Certainly not Britney! It seems like she wanted babies because it was “cute” and now that they are becoming little people the fun is wearing off. They deserve a parent who doesn’t just drop them with a nanny and go party. They deserve a mom who doesn’t spend more time toting around her puppy in her arms than her own babies.

All I know is that we are watching a 25 year old mother of two with severe and apparently untreated Bi-Polar disorder risking her life and the well being of her kids daily. That shouldn’t be considered entertainment or something to cheer about any more than watching a diabetic go into insulin shock - Sad.
