And the winner is...

BRYANT ... twice!
Saturday Zac and I took Bryant to a big Halloween Party at our local Recreation Center (it's like the YMCA... which we don't have here). We weren't exactly sure what was going on since we've never been before... but it sounded like a good family activity.

First up was a costume contest. I guess it was a good thing that Bryant wore his costume! Bryant and 125 other children pranced their way down a run-way while the announcer said their name, age and costume title.

There were lots of kids and lots of costumes. Some store bought and some homemade.
But my little guy marched his way down the run-way in his US Army costume and stole the contest. He WON! He got several gift certificates to local places and had his picture taken.
Here he is in the backyard with his GI Joe Army tank... he wanted me to take his picture to see if I could see him. He was pretty disappointed that his camouflage didn't hide him.

And here I am... the proud mama... with my main man. (Notice how much of his makeup is worn off by now. He said it was really itchy).
After the costume contest was the Great Pumpkin Hunt. All 125 kids converged on the grassy park around the Rec Center and hunted small pumpkins. It was basically like an Easter Egg hunt but with pumpkins.

At the end of the pumpkin hunt, I examined Bryant's pumpkins. He had about 20. Some pumpkins had candy or small toys taped to them.

But this one pumpkin... had...

Yep, that's right. Bryant won the grand prize... a new bike!!! Now, do we really need another bike... no... but don't tell that to Bryant. He couldn't have been any more excited. Zac thought we should give the bike to someone who really needed it (how do we know that??). But in the end we decided to let Bryant keep it. When he has friends over we'll have an extra bike.

Look at this boy. He looks like he swallowed a canary. He is just so darn proud of himself. First he won the costume contest and then the pumpkin hunt.

Heck... we should have had him buy us a lottery ticket on the way home. I might be in the Bahama's right now if he had....

And what does any boy do when he gets home (usually they're at least teenagers but in this case he's my 5 year old)? Well, he goes to get his girlfriend, Krystel, so he can show off his costume and bike.

Of course I had to take a picture of them lounging next to each other. Krystel has her witch costume on and is giving me "the look." I interrupted their little "get together."
