Last weekend Zac and I had our first night out together (alone) in over a year (thanks to my mom and dad being in town). We had 3 hours to waste before our dinner reservation... and honestly it was hard to find something to do.
We did all the "normal" things we use to do-
*Go to the bookstore and liesurely browse.... CHECK
*Go look at the college dorms and rented houses we used to live in and talk about how cool we thought they were (and really what a dump they are now)... CHECK
*Go the mall and thank the good Lord that we don't have a daughter who is hanging out looking like a Hoochie... CHECK
*Drop by our friend's houses unannounced and see if we can catch them with a house as dirty as ours... CHECK
Finally we decided to do something different and somewhat constructive with our time. We have a new store in town which is all the RAGE. Our 5 year old son has been there 3 times... but neither Zac or I have.
And so, we decided it was the perfect time to make our maiden voyage to go check it out...
We decided to visit the 132,000 sq. ft. showroom that is known as Cabela's.
A visit to a Cabela's store is a retail experience, a museum experience and a destination experience, all rolled into one! Zac was like a kid in a candy store!
There were Bows...
There were Guns (and Daniel Boone hats)...
Boat Motors...
Lots and Lots of flies for Fly Fishing...
Museum-quality animal displays...
And so much more! Cabela's offers sensational visual décor and an unmatched selection of merchandise.
Best of all... we waste over 3 hours, throughly enjoyed ourselves and didn't spend a dime!

Ahhh...Cabela's. I'm not much into the "outdoorsy" stuff, but even I like to go to the one we have in MI. It's pretty cool.
My husband and I have taken the kids there on a "field trip" before.
